Welcome to Warminster Cricket Club's Web-site
Warminster CC welcomes visitors to this web-site. The club is over 170 years old, and has played at the same Sambourne Road ground for most of that time. We, like many other clubs, are providing news for visitors and members alike, via this refreshing medium.
2012 is set to be another busy and exciting year for the club as the Indoor Cricket Academy goes from strength to strength; the 1st XI look to improve on their solid performance in the West of England Premier League last season whilst the 2nd XI embark on their first season up into Premier One 2nd XI; the 3rd and 4th XIs look forward to more intense competition following promotion for them both last season; an ever-growing Junior section including the boys' merger with Heytesbury/Sutton Veny; competitive league cricket and festivals for our girls section in the Under 11s and Under 13s age groups and our ladies team also look forward to more competitive cricket in South West Women's Regional League.
The 1st & 2nd XI fixtures are already available for viewing on this website with 3rd XI, 4th XI, Ladies XI and Junior (Boys & Girls) fixtures for 2012 to be published some time in March when confirmed. Training sessions are detailed in both Club News and by clicking on the 'Community' section then 'Postings'.
Warminster CC is proud to be one of the handful of Focus Clubs within Wiltshire and is fully committed to the Clubmark programme ensuring that the future generation(s) of cricketers can learn their sport here at the club in a safe, structured yet fun environment where the welfare of the young player is paramount.
Our Social Committee will be working hard this year organising various fundraising functions and events to involve all club members - players and social alike.
Warminster Cricket Club are committed to the NatWest Cricket Force Programme for 2012 and we need your help on Saturday 31st March & Saturday 7th April 2012. We need your time and work to get the cricket club ready for the new season - cleaning the covers, getting sight screens ready, cleaning of seating, advertising boards and general tidy up of the grounds.
